LUCY AND CHARLIE

We cannot say enough good things about Dan. Our dogs, Lucy and Charlie, absolutely love him and we rest assured knowing that they are always well cared for, having fun, and getting great exercise. They always come home happy and tired. One of the things that sets Dan apart is that he cares for them like they are his own dogs and never just drops them in a rowdy dog park to “play” with tons of other dogs with little supervision. He takes only a few out for a run at a time and so they are always under control and get lots of personal attention. Dan is always so respectful when he comes to our home to pick up or drop them off, always making sure to dry them off, do a tick check and give them water. He’s great about communicating if any issues arise and is so flexible if we need to adjust our times. After having Dan take care of Charlie and Lucy for over a year and a half now, regular walks around the block just don’t cut it anymore!

OLLIE

Dan is the BEST! He clearly has a passion for dogs as well as fitness, he's reliable, and he's also just about the nicest guy you could ever meet. We have a big, strong golden and we always felt comfortable knowing that Dan could handle him out on the trails. Dan and Ollie have a great connection and it's obvious how much Ollie adores him and looks forward to their walks and adventures. We have two very young children so we don't always get out for long walks like we used to which makes these "walks with friends", as we affectionally refer to them, so important for keeping Ollie healthy and well-exercised. Occasionally, we've had the pleasure of being home during pickup and it's so fun and reassuring to see how happy Ollie is to see him. And what's even better, is that he comes home totally exhausted!

ALBERT

Dan is wonderful with Albert, our very large, black, two year old English Lab who is an overly exuberant puppy and so strong that I can not walk him myself. And we have used any number of trainers to no avail to help me with this task. With Dan I know that Albert is not only safe with Dan, but he is not going to pull Dan over. Albert also adores him. He gets totally excited on the times we are home when Dan arrives. And if I ask, "Is Dan here yet?" - Albert runs to the kitchen door and stands up to peer out the window on the door. Dan has also helped out in emergencies when no one could be at the house to let Albert out. I trust him completely and Dan is truly a wonderful, caring person who is committed to whatever he is doing, and his large heart and great passion for dogs was clear from the very beginning. I feel fortunate to have Dan in our lives and I know I am speaking also for Albert. In fact next to my husband and myself, Albert's favorite person in the world is Dan. I can not recommend him more highly - he is terrific, beyond great! I can relax knowing that Albert is having a wonderful outing with Dan and friends (doggy friends).

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Dan, and I'm the man behind the 1-Man Wolfpack. My route to this company is a strange one. After 6 years of teaching middle school special education, I realized I was more interested in helping kids learn how their brains function so that they could utilize their strengths to best help themselves. I went back to school and got my Master's in Psychology at Brandeis. I then continued on in their PhD program. In my 4th year at Brandeis, I found myself standing in front of a room full of 200 freshmen, lecturing their Psych 100 class that the 3 most important things in their lives are sleep, exercise, and diet. Later that night, I found myself in my office around 1 AM, reading articles on how vital sleep is to your health. I had just finished my 3rd Red Bull, and hadn't left the chair I was sitting in for about 6 hours. I realized at that point that I needed to change some things.

My great dane/black lab mix (Dipper) had passed away during my 1st year at Brandeis. I greatly missed dogs, but being a PhD student, I didn't have a puppy conducive schedule. I took a year leave from school and got a job with a local dog walking company. I absolutely loved it, and after the year passed I decided I wanted to continue my time with dogs. However, I always had to worry about whether they would get in fights with other off-leash dogs, and then they would return to my car covered in mud or something stinky they had decided to roll in.

I decided it was time to start my own company and address these issues, and thus 1-Man Wolfpack was born. I specialize in on-leash trail runs, so your dog gets the exercise they need, but without coming home covered in mud, ticks, and the smell of that dead animal they found to roll in. This is a one man, fully insured and licensed business, so you will know the person who comes to your home every day.
